Little miss Ella Grace. Born on October 8th, 2015 at 7:34 p.m. to Ashten and Chase Sumner, a healthy, happy baby girl entered the world, beginning the growth of their own little family. Ashten always knew she wanted to be a mom, so being blessed with Ella was the sincerest dream come true.
"I want to always remember the way my heart felt the first time I held her. The way she smells and the bond only she and I share because of nursing." - Ashten
To me, family is everything. When the world knocks you down, family is there to lift you back up. They understand you, love you for who you are unconditionally. What could be greater than that? It must feel truly amazing to begin a tribe of your own. Ella Grace, you are the start of your mommy and daddy's family and nothing, my dear, is sweeter than that.
Thank you so much to Ashten and Chase for inviting me into your home to capture such sweet moments with your new bundle of joy!
Jena and Shane's wedding was a beautiful one. Jena was absolutely stunning and one of the most laid back brides I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Shane and his groomsmen were a blast to photograph and kept me laughing the entire day. As a photographer, you can't really ask for much more than that.
The handsome groom and his groomsmen.
Having fun on your wedding day is key.
The ceremony was set right on the beach. The chairs lining the aisle were dressed with gorgeous flowers. The weather was perfect for an evening beach wedding.
"I was as cool as a cucumber as we had an agreement not to cry. I remember looking at Chandler when we walked out of the door and saying, 'Okay, what are you going to say to make me laugh because I can't cry!' I got halfway down the aisle and look up at Shane and he's balling. I thought in my head, 'nooooo, we had an agreement!' I couldn't believe he's going to make me do the ugly cry face." - Jena
"His love for me is so real. It's the best!" - Jena
What a perfect ending to an amazing day! To see lots more from the Buchanan wedding day, make sure to check out the link at the bottom of the blog!
Thank you so much to Shane and Jena, your friends and families who welcomed me with open arms! I had a blast with you guys and look forward to seeing you guys again in the future!
Meet Kayla and Michael. This is their story.
This sweet couple started their journey together three years ago in October of 2012. When they met, they instantly clicked and knew they couldn't be without each other. In June of this year, Michael proposed to Kayla (in front of a crowd of people!!!) during a hike up Stone Mountain on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Now, a few months later, their wedding is set to be in October of 2016.
The first thing about Kayla that really made me fall in love was how sweet and caring she is. - Michael
I love how adventurous she is, even on our limited schedule. We can always find something to do together. Though she hasn’t gotten into anime, she does share many of my passions. Doing something you love with someone you love makes it all the better. Another thing I love (hate), even though it’s sometimes against my will, is that she helps me break out of my comfort zone and try new things. - Michael
To really know Michael, you have to understand him and I love that about the way he carries himself. There are very few that know him as well as I do and I feel blessed that I get to have that. - Kayla
I feel like I found a hidden gem. Because he's such a shy person, I feel blessed to be one of the people who knows him on the level that I do. Michael is one of the funniest people I have ever met and actually a HUGE nerd. I love the fact that he isn’t afraid to be himself in that aspect. He keeps me laughing all the time and I love that. - Kayla
It's easy to see how much they adore one another, just through photographs. The best moments of this morning with Michael and Kayla was watching him make her laugh over and over again. It was sort of contagious. Spending time with couples like this is so precious to me. We can all get stuck in a rut of unhappiness, of choosing to see the negative in the world. But if you stop and slow down, if you really look, you will see there is so much love all around you. This is why photographing love is my most meaningful passion.
A sincere thank you to Michael and Kayla for sharing your story with me and being so open to doing the sunrise session! Chase and I had a fantastic time exploring around Piedmont Park, getting to know you guys better and capturing some sweet moments.
