Chase and Justine happily agreed to have their engagement portraits taken at sunrise. It's not everyday that I have clients who are willing to take that on but when I do, I take full advantage. And it's always worth it.
Chase and Justine met five years ago on a boat with a group of mutual friends. Their first date would come only a few short weeks later after Justine worked up the nerve to ask him for his number. Little did she know that he'd end up being her "meant-to-be."
He changed her world and she's a better person for it. He holds her accountable, he keeps her adventurous and best of all, he makes the best guacamole she's ever had. Every girl needs a mean guac in her life. ;)
In September of 2015, Chase planned a hike at Panther Creek Trail and Justine declined the invitation. However, when she realized how let down Chase was about not going, she decided to take one for the team to make him happy and go. Chase, Justine and their dog, Callie, loaded up and headed out for their hike. They were in the middle of a stream to cool their feet and Justine had her eyes fixed on Callie who was playing in the water. When she looked back at Chase he was down on one knee and asked if she'd spend the rest of her life with him. Because he's a good secret keeper, it took her by complete surprise and she couldn't formulate a sentence at first. He asked again and of course, she said "yes!"
Chase admires how genuine Justine is and her kindness is something he's never experienced before her. She makes him truly happy and above all, he respects her. She is the yin to his yang.
A major plus for Chase is that his friends love her and she loves them just the same. Family is their most important thing and remains at the center of who they are.
It's not hard to see how crazy these two are for one another...
Callie, the sweetest Weimaraner you'd ever meet, was named after Chase's mother who passed away in 2013 of cancer. Callie stems from Callaway, his mother's maiden name.
Hey, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do! ;)
The next two photos are 100% Chase and Justine. There was a run happening at the park that morning and occasionally a runner would pop in front of the camera, yelling, "sorry!" as they scurried past. During this shot, this gentleman walked up to the building we were in front of and the couple promptly invited him to be in the portrait with them.
Unfortunately he wasn't interested in any trio action but his good spirit kept us laughing for a bit!
Check out their shoe game. They are killin' it!!!
A little impromptu dancing in the park...
These two could dance together with their eyes closed. They've practiced their moves a few times...
And then we were off to check out the water. Callie was an adorable addition to our morning.
How sweet it is to be playful!
Look at the way he's looking at her!!! STOOOPPPP! *heart eyes emoji*
They make the most charming couple...
Justine's diamond ring is more than just a ring to she and Chase. The diamond was his mother's. Kim, Chase's mom, was an important and powerful woman to Justine. She was someone she truly looked up to and respected. To Justine, Kim was like one of her girlfriends. She helped Justine pick outfits before events, she was who Justine trusted for advice, and she helped guide her through situations in her life. To this day, Chase and Justine use the wisdom they gained from her and often make decisions based on what she would have done, thought, or said. She was a woman of style and grace and that's something Justine hopes to always mimic.
To Chase and Justine, thank you for sharing your story with me and respect to you both for being troopers and embracing the sunrise session! My time getting to know you both was certainly entertaining! I can't wait to see you again this fall on your wedding day! xoxo
