Roswell Mill has become one of my favorite locations around Atlanta. It's a serene spot tucked away just north of the city. With an abundance of trees, water flowing over and down the rocks, it makes the most peaceful music. My heart was certainly happy when Brittany and David decided to have their engagement portraits taken here.
Brittany and David met in May of 2014 at a camp that the Shepherd Center puts on each summer for individuals with spinal cord injuries and brain injuries called ASW, or Adventure Skills Workshop. Brittany was a volunteer with her class at the University of South Alabama and David was a participant.
"I met him for the first time at the camp’s ski spot and immediately fell in love. I didn’t believe in love at first sight but the second I met him, something changed in my heart. Little did I know that at ASW this past summer, David would propose at that exact ski spot that we met at years ago."
Four months after they'd first met, they went on their first date. Lost in conversation, in the middle of J. Alexander's Restaurant, they began getting to know one another. What probably felt like such a short amount of time had actually been six hours that they sat, enjoying each other's company.
It didn't take long to realize they had found the person they were meant to spend the rest of their lives with.
Right away we could see that they are experts in making each other laugh. I remember hearing her say to David, "you keep making me laugh!" To which he replied, "You told me you were nervous about the shoot, I'm just easing your nerves." And she thanked him. *sigh* Literally, so precious...
Not to my surprise, one of their favorite aspects of their relationship is how much fun they have together. He keeps her laughing, her laugh keeps him happy. The cycle repeats. ;)
Every summer since 2014, David and Brittany go back to the place they met, ASW in Alexander City. This year was no exception. It was a Friday night in May, they had finished dinner and were spending time catching up with some of their friends. One of the friends asked to see the medal David won in Australia for a ski competition. Brittany took the friend to see the medal while David met their other friends back at the ski spot. They had done this for the past few years so nothing felt unusual to Brittany. A few minutes later, she and the friend headed out to where the group was, to hang out with their friends and spend the rest of the evening catching up with everyone.
"It was right at sunset and we were sitting there chatting for a while before David took my hand and started talking about our journey and the love he has for me. I had no clue what was going on at first until I caught a glimpse of his brother with the camera pointed at us. David asked me for my hand in marriage at the very spot we met in 2014, which made the experience that much more special. It didn’t hit me what had happened until about 10 minutes later. David was tearing up, I was tearing up, our friends we’re tearing up. It was so simple, but so perfect." - Brittany
Chase and I loved hanging out with David and Brittany! They will say their "I-do's" in March of 2018 and we can not wait to capture that special day with them!!!

Newlyweds Brandon and Dani Bryant said their vows at the lovely Juliette Chapel on Saturday, September 9th. This quaint wedding venue is tucked away in the North Georgia mountains in the town of Dahlonega.
Dani and Brandon decided on a first look... and it was oh-so-sweet!
Ah, yes... tears of joy! We love a groom that shed's a tear or two or ten... ;)
*Wedding Photographer Hack* Don't be rude to family members or guests who want to snap a photo of the bride and groom! One of my favorite shots to get is one that has the phone screen in focus with the bride and groom blurred in the background. ;)
Time to say their vows...
Following the ceremony, Chase and I took the newlyweds to a spot with gorgeous mountain views to get a few photos before the reception. We really could have stayed in this spot all evening! It was a beautiful site!
We had to drag ourselves from the mountainous views to get back to the reception!
Family and friends greeted the couple when they arrived at the reception!
This fun-loving couple had sets of custom cornhole boards made for their reception! Pretty cool way to entertain guests during the cocktail hour and reception.
Y'all. This groom's cake was covered in the bluest icing I've ever seen...

Often there's at least some significance in the details a bride and groom pick out for their wedding day. I learn a lot about couples by asking them the question, "Why?"
Dani and Brandon decided to save this specific bottle of wine for the end of the day. When I asked them why this specific bottle was saved, they told me the significance behind their decision. Brandon proposed in Chattanooga, Tennessee at Rock City Gardens. That weekend, they went out and did a wine tasting event. At the end of the event, they picked up a bottle of their favorite wine and stowed it away for their wedding day. So cute!
To Dani and Brandon, thank you both so much for welcoming us into your lives to capture your beautiful wedding day! We wish you guys nothing but a lifetime of love and happiness!!! Cheers!
